Markus Babbel is wasting little time rebuilding his Western Sydney Wanderers squad, securing Swiss international midfielder Pirmin Schwegler.
Just 12 days after bringing experienced defender Daniel Georgievski to the club, Babbel has signed the 32-year-old midfielder for the Hyundai A-League 2019/20 Season.
Schwegler brings a wealth of experience to 'Wanderland' having played 15 years at the top level in Switzerland and Germany.
“I am very excited to join the Western Sydney Wanderers and I’m counting down the days until I arrive,” Schwegler told the Wanderers' official website.
“I am very proud to be part of the Red and Black and look forward to getting started.”

Schwegler is currently with Bundesliga outfit Hannover 96 where he was captain of the side that played league-leaders Bayern Munich earlier this month.
He started his career in the Swiss Super League at FC Luzern and Young Boys, before making the switch to Germany.
Schwegler joined Bayer Leverkusen in 2006 and has gone on to make over 250 appearances in the Bundesliga at clubs including Eintracht Frankfurt, 1899 Hoffenheim and currently Hannover 96.
The Wanderers are set to have a very new look next season with the club releasing 11 players from their 2018/19 squad recently, while skipper Brendan Hamill also confirmed his departure on Tuesday.
