Craig Goodwin has been announced as Adelaide United's player of the season at the club's Hyundai A-League awards on Wednesday night.
Following Adelaide United’s historic Championship and Premiership double, the Reds continued celebrations at the Club’s annual Awards Night, this year at the Stamford Grand Adelaide.
Versatile winger, Craig Goodwin, claimed the night’s most prestigious award, the Aurelio Vidmar Club Champion Award, for a truly outstanding season from the 24-year-old.
He was also named as the Members’ Player of the Year, which was voted for by Adelaide United’s members, and presented by Steve 'Red Wig' Cervaro, who went to every Reds’ match – home and away.
Goodwin played 26 of 29 matches this season for United, starting each match and only being substituted twice, scoring four goals and notching up four assists.
Goodwin’s stunning Aurelio Vidmar Club Champion Award has been created by Scott Anthony of Pure Envy, a proud, family-owned South Australian company have come on board as the ‘Official Jeweller of Adelaide United’ in a long term deal that will align both brands and see Pure Envy create the awards for all Adelaide United teams.
Tarek Elrich was awarded the Remo Paris Best Clubman Award for exemplifying the culture and morals of the Club and for portraying himself in a manner through which his peers aspire to be like him both on and off the field. Elrich was presented this award by Christina Paris, Remo’s wife, and Dino and Ivano, Remo’s sons.
Bruce Djite was presented with the Adelaide United Golden Boot Award as a result of being the Club’s leading goal scorer with 11 goals.
20-year-old Stefan Mauk won the Rising Star Award after returning to South Australia to join the Reds in January 2016.
Marcelo Carrusca was awarded with The Advertiser and Channel 7’s Golden Boots Award for his fantastic season, as voted by Val Migliaccio, Richard Earle, and Meno Toutsidis.
