Melbourne Heart attacker David Williams has been suspended for one match following the meeting of the independent Match Review Panel.

Williams recevived a straight red card in the 67th minute of Heart's victory over Brisbane Roar at the weekend for his lunging challenge, that saw him go in with the studs showing.

Williams had previously set the Heart on their way, scoring the first goal in the encounter.

He will miss this weekend's game when the Heart travel to Allianz Stadium to take on Sydney FC.
