To coincide with the start of the Hyundai A-League Season, the Wellington Phoenix FC has officially launched the Phoenix Football Fund to help the club compete on and off the park with the biggest A-League clubs in Australia.

This concept has been introduced to support the Club's vision of winning the Hyundai A-League Trophy.  To achieve that goal the club needs to compete, both on and off the field, with high profile well-resourced clubs in Australia.

David Dome, General Manager, was proud to open the fund with a personal pledge and invites football fans throughout New Zealand to join the Phoenix Football Fund – “donating to the Phoenix Football Fund means you’re supporting the team even if you can't make it to a game, if we don’t win you don’t pay”.

Wellington Phoenix start the season against Newcastle Jets.

The fund is dependent on team performance, encouraging supporters and members to share in the Phoenix FC journey by pledging $1 or more for every A-League match that the team wins.  The website –everywincounts.com – includes an inspirational video message from Captain Andrew Durante.

Nathan Godfrey, Head of Commercial, highlighted the potential of the Phoenix Football Fund: “the funds will be reinvested in to the continued growth of the clubs elite football program; helping our players and coaches achieve a competitive advantage in areas such as sports science, data analysis, medical equipment, and ultimately new facilities”.

There will be a number of exclusive benefits offered to those who join the Phoenix Football Fund including our ‘one touch promise’.  This is an opportunity for members of the Phoenix Football Fund to enter the team change rooms for a photo with the A-League Trophy when we make history.
