Newcastle Jets v Brisbane Roar Saturday 17th March, 5.30pm

Get ready to roar the Jets back to winning ways at Hunter Stadium this Saturday, as they bid for a finals place.

The clash between Newcastle Jets and Brisbane Roar at Hunter Stadium, originally due to take place on Sunday, has been re-scheduled to Saturday afternoon instead. So mark the date change in your diary because this is one game you do not want to miss.

With Roar still harbouring hopes of finishing on top of the tree at the season's end and with Jets chasing a finals place, there is everything to play for on Saturday. Expect full-blooded Hyundai A-League action at its best as these two fine sides clash.

If the Jets are looking for inspiration in their bid to beat Brisbane, they don't need to delve too far into the past.

The last time the sides came together, at Suncorp Stadium in January, Newcastle picked up a sensational away win. Having not triumphed on the road in a year, they defied a second-half onslaught to pick up three precious points after hitting a vital goal in the 23rd-minute through Ben Kantarovski.

However, a word of caution; last time the teams met in Newcastle, Brisbane left with the win, despite the home side taking a lead through Ryan Griffiths. Goals from Henrique and substitute James Meyer turned things around and took Brisbane's unbeaten run to a remarkable 35 games.

Jets really need three points after last week playing out a frustrating 1-1 draw against Gold Coast United. Indeed, it even took a Nikolai Topor-Stanley header on the stroke of full-time to grab a point from the game after the ladder's bottom club took a first-half lead and then defended heroically until the death.

To look on the bright side though, that late, late goal might be the difference between squeezing into the finals and missing out.

The Roar were also frustrated last weekend, being held at home by lowly Adelaide. In the end they were grateful to leave with a point having been outplayed for much of the contest and after falling behind early on.

Besart Berisha's 18th of the season was enough to rescue the match but, if they hold out any hope of stealing the Premier's Plate from under the noses of Central Coast Mariners, then they simply have to win in Newcastle on Saturday.

It's a huge tussle this weekend, with both clubs needing the points for different reasons. With the previous two fixtures between these teams in the Hyundai A-League 2011/12 season being won by the away side, Roar will fancy their chances this Saturday, so Newcastle will have their work cut out if they are to grab another important win.

And that's where you come in. Grab your ticket today and sing with The Squadron as your team aims for three absolutely vital points.
