Former Melbourne Victory star Archie Thompson is playing on again, signing on to play the remainder of the season with Murray United.
The club confirmed the signing on their Twitter account on Friday.
It’s believed Thompson had offers to join Melbourne clubs Moreland City and Bulleen Lions but opted to return to the NPL2 outfit during the mid-season transfer window.
“I haven’t played a competitive game since the last game for Murray back in August, but hopefully I’ll catch up to speed pretty quickly and be part of the team,” Thompson said the Border Mail.
“I’ve got that bit of fire back which is nice to have.
“What Murray is trying to create by being professional and competitive is what every club wants to strive for, but if you’ve got that family feel around and everyone is happy, you just can’t buy that.”
Thompson is expected to make his first appearance for the club in their home clash against Brunswick City next weekend.
He scored seven goals in 18 appearances for the club last season.
