Transfer Rumours | Ibini to Brugge?

Reports this morning suggest Central Coast striker Bernie Ibini could be on his way to Belgium after impressing in his trial with Club Brugge.

Reports this morning suggest Central Coast striker Bernie Ibini could be on his way to Belgium after impressing in his trial with Club Brugge.

The 20-year-old flew to Europe last week, reportedly scoring two goals during a youth team trial match.

Mariners coach Graham Arnold told The Australian the club is now waiting on further contact from Brugge this week.

"From what I understand, Bernie did exceptionally on Saturday night so the ball is now in Club Brugge's court," Arnold said. "It's all up to them. We agreed a transfer amount before Bernie left last week for the trial.

"If Brugge like what they see, they can say 'Yes, we want him', the transfer amount will be activated and the kid will be off to Belgium dependent on his own personal terms."

While Arnold has stuck with his statement of making his young players “into millionaires”, the loss of Ibini would be a major blow for the Mariners just a week after the departure of Tom Rogic to Celtic.

Celtic have announced that Rogic has been granted his work permit required to finalise his move to the Scottish giants.

"The highly-rated youngster will now return to Australia to complete some final paperwork before returning to Glasgow and getting his Hoops career underway," the club said in a statement on its website.
