Toure's season in jeopardy after breaking foot
Adelaide United wonder-kid Al Hassan Toure could miss the rest of the Hyundai A-League season after breaking a bone in his foot.
Toure, 19, suffered a stress fracture of the second metatarsal in his right foot whilst on international duty with Australia's U-23 national team during the recent AFC U-23 Championship, in which Graham Arnold's side booked their ticket to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Toure will be ruled out of action 'for an indefinite period of time' according to the club, who are seeking a surgical opinion in the coming days.
It comes months after the teenager pledged his international future to Australia following a remarkable elevation to first-team football at Adelaide.
|After catching the eye of coach Gertjan Verbeek during pre-season, Toure scored five goals and was named the Mark Viduka Medalist for best on ground in Adelaide's 4-0 rout of Melbourne City in the Final.
He scored on his Hyundai A-League debut against Sydney FC last October and against Western Sydney Wanderers in December, playing 556 minutes in total throughout 2019/20.
Adelaide host Melbourne City at Coopers Stadium this Saturday evening.
