Injury blow for Glory keeper

Tando Velaphi's involvement in Perth Glory's Malaysia Tour has unfortunately been cut short by injury.

The 31-year-old was hospitalised after being involved in a sickening collision with Sarawak FA striker Bobby during Saturday's friendly game at Stadium Negeri.

He subsequently received treatment for multiple facial fractures and head lacerations and is now expected to fly back to Perth on Tuesday where he will visit a specialist to assess what further medical attention will be required.

Velaphi has been very touched by the messages of sympathy and support that have flooded in and has asked the club to thank everyone for their concern and best wishes on his behalf.

The injury means Glory will just have Liam Reddy for their second and final tour game on Wednesday with other keeper Jackson Lee away on Under-17's international duty.
