Signing news: Western United FC add first goalkeeper to their squad

Western United FC have signed their first goalkeeper after securing rising gloveman James Delianov from Melbourne City.

The 19-year-old, who made his Hyundai A-League debut earlier this season, has signed a two-year deal with the Hyundai A-League’s newest club.

He was also between the sticks for the Young Socceroos during the recent AFC U/19 Championships, playing in every match.

Delianov becomes the club’s 14th signing and the third this week after the club added Turkish international defender Ersan Gulum and former Caltex Socceroos striker Scott McDonald.

In what has been a massive few days for the new club, who also unveiled their new logo on Wednesday.

Delianov’s addition continues United’s policy of securing some of Australia’s brightest young prospects, with the likes of Sebastian Pasquali, Apostolos Stamatelopoulos and Dylan Pierias already joining the club.
