Iradukunda, 20, was born in Burundi and arrived in Australia in 2004, starting his career in Melbourne with Sunshine-based club Brimbank Stallions.
The midfielder previously spent time in the youth team of Melbourne Victory, where he won player of the year honours in 2017/18.
“Thierry has demonstrated the right attributes and attitude since he has arrived and we look forward to seeing his development as part of the senior squad,” hailed Western United boss Rudan.
He could be in line to play in the club’s third pre-season friendly against North Geelong Warriors on Tuesday evening at the City Vista Pavilion and Sports Field.
“As a local, I’m proud to have earned a scholarship with Western United Football Club,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to continue training hard, doing my best to impress the coaches and contribute to the squad this season.”
