Perth Glory have consolidated their goalkeeping stocks with confirmation that experienced gloveman Tando Velaphi has signed a new one-year deal with the club.
Velaphi, 32, returned to Glory for the start of the Hyundai A-League 2018/19 Season having previously made 74 appearances for the club in his fist stint between 2007 and 2011.
He spent last season's premiership-winning campaign as understudy to first-choice shot-stopper Liam Reddy.
And the Perth-born custodisan is delighted to remain a part of Tony Popovic's squad as Glory look to improve on their success in the 2019/20 campaign.
“I’m really pleased to have re-signed. The success the club achieved last year was fantastic, but as a group, we feel that we have unfinished business and plenty of improvement in us," Velaphi said on Glory's official website.
“I’m looking forward to playing my part in what I’m sure will be another exciting campaign for everyone involved with Glory.”
Glory CEO Tony Pignata added: “Our stated aim as a club is to achieve sustained success and we feel that the re-signing of Tando is another step in constructing the squad we need to fulfil that aim."
Velaphi, an Australian youth international has made 103 appearances in the Hyundai A-League, also playing for the likes of Melbourne Victory, Melbourne City and Wellington Phoenix.
Velaphi is set to feature in Glory's squad for their high-profile friendly against a full-strength Manchester United at Optus Stadium on Saturday, July 13.
