The prophetic promise Berisha made to Muscat in 2014

Besart Berisha still remembers exactly what he told Kevin Muscat when he put pen to paper on a blockbuster move to Melbourne Victory in 2014.

The most prolific scorer in Hyundai A-League history agreed to join the heavyweights shortly before winning his second Grand Final with Brisbane Roar.

He now has an incredible four championships to his name.

After a tight and tense 1-0 win over Newcastle Jets - Victory's second success in the space of four seasons - Berisha revealed the typically determined message he had for the Victory boss at their Gold Coast meeting four years ago.

"I remember what I said to him. I shook his hand I told him I'm coming to win trophies," Berisha recalled to Fox Sports.

"I have a great relationship with Kevin.

"This is crazy. Who could believe when I came here to Australia I would achieve so much?

"I'm such a lucky man. I thank my team-mates, I thank my family, I thank Australia.

Besart Berisha
Beasart Berisha has already built a lasting legacy in the Hyundai A-League.

"This is for me so special. This is my fifth Grand Final in seven years. To win four of them is incredible.

"I'm so happy for the club, for the supporters, for the families of the players, for the players."

The 32-year-old Kosovo international can also count a Premiers Plate and an FFA Cup victory among his achievements in what has been a decorated spell in Melbourne.

But, having come from fourth on the ladder and a stuttering start to the campaign to claim Grand Final glory, Berisha believes this one may just top the lot.

"This season was so difficult. We got tested in many aspects of the game," he said.

"In the end all our belief pays off.

"It's more special than to have finished first and won it."
