Gold Coast United v Central Coast Mariners Wednesday 9th February 8:00pm
Prices Slashed for this midweek match-up. Get along to Skilled Park for as little as $15 for adults and $5 for kids. What a bargain!
It's the last home game of the regular season for Gold Coast United, so make your way to Skilled Park and roar them into the finals. If supporting your team to glory wasn't reason enough to get a ticket, then the amazing news is that the club are decimating prices for the crucial clash against rivals Central Coast Mariners. Fans can see their heroes in action for as little as $15.00 for adults while all children-s tickets are a ridiculously cheap $5.00.
These reduced prices make it more affordable than ever for the Gold Coast community to get involved in the exciting run towards the finals series. With a big crowd anticipated for this midweek match-up, the northern, western and eastern stands will be opened to give supporters a wide choice of excellent seats.
Of course, this game should have already been played in December, and indeed, 20 minutes of it was before the weather brought an end to the match as the pitch became unplayable. The torrential rain couldn't have come at a worse time for United, who had encouraged a massive crowd through the doors by dishing out free tickets.
After Mariner's Adam Kwasnik had missed a penalty in an unsurprisingly scrappy few minutes, fans were sent home bewildered, as proceedings were brought to a close before the game reached the quarter mark.
In the other matches between the sides in the Hyundai A-League 2010/11 season, a 0-0 draw at Skilled Park meant that Mariners had, at the time, gone 313 minutes without conceding. Conversely, when they played the return fixture at the Bluetongue, there were goals galore, as United struck twice in a four-minute period in the second-half and eventually came away with a 3-2 victory in a thriller.
This game is crucial to Central Coast Mariners if they are to cement second place and go straight into the major semi-final. Graham Arnold-s side have been brilliant in recent weeks, most notably when they turned over Adelaide United at Hindmarsh Stadium, so they will be fearless as they enter the arena at Skilled Park.
This tussle is as intriguing a match as you will see in Week 26. United are strong at home and will be looking to get one over the side from the Central Coast, while Mariners are one of the most feared teams in the Hyundai A-League.
It-s impossible to call, so find out for yourself which way this one is going to go by grabbing a cut-price ticket and getting involved in some top-notch action under the lights on Wednesday night.
