Head coach Ernie Merrick believes the Newcastle Jets have added 'attacking flair' in the form of Brazilian forward Jair Eduardo Britto da Silva.
The 30-year-old was a prolific goalscorer in the K-League, scoring 46 goals in 110 games for Jeju United and Jeonnam Dragons in the Korea Republic's premier club competition.
Jair arrives in the Hunter next week on a one-year deal following a short spell at Yanbian Funde FC in China's League One, having previously turned out in Japan for Kashima Antlers and for two clubs in the United Arab Emirates.
His newest boss, Merrick, hailed Jair's goal-scoring record in Korea and is already scheming up ways of integrating his newest weapon into an arsenal which already contains fellow South American Ronnie Vargas and Caltex Socceroo Dimi Petratos.

“Jair has great experience, attacking flair and has played at a couple of Korea’s biggest clubs,” Merrick said.
“He’s been successful in a high quality league over an extended period, to have scored so many goals in a league as competitive and technical as the K-League is certainly impressive.
“I’m really looking forward to how he can combine with the likes of Ronnie (Vargas) and Dimi (Petratos) to create goal-scoring opportunities.
“I’ve watched the way Jair goes about his business and I think he’s the sort of attacking player our fans can be excited about.”
