Phoenix sign young keeper to senior deal

Wellington Phoenix have today announced the signing of young goalkeeper Oliver Sail on a two-year Hyundai A-League contract.

Sail, 21, has spent the last two years on a youth professional contract and was delighted to take the next step with the Hyundai A League club.

“It is a fantastic opportunity for me and I intend putting my best foot forward every week and hopefully will get to make my A-League debut having been on the subs bench three times without getting on the field,” Sail said.

Really pleased to have extended my stay at the club for another 2 years! Looking forward to the hard work ahead and the success it brings 🙌🏼⚽️🖊 @wellingtonphoenix @aspire_agency @rhys_lenarduzzi

“With Mossy (Glen Moss) involved with the All Whites there is a chance of that happening if I keep working hard in training.”

Wellington play host to Perth Glory in Auckland on Saturday afternoon.
