Midfielder Adriano Pellegrino has re-signed with the Perth Glory until at least the end of the 2010/11 Hyundai A-League season.

Pursued by several rival clubs, including Adelaide United, the 24-year-old South Australian has instead elected to remain with the club he only joined in the last off-season because he believes in the direction it is heading under coach Dave Mitchell.

"I have been very happy in Perth and I see a great future for the club and wanted to be part of that," Pellegrino said.

"We're definitely on the improve, you know it's always difficult when a new squad of players come in but we're working well now and hopefully we can keep the group together and continue to build on what we've started."

"I had a great feeling from the first moment I joined the club and set myself to be here for the long haul. We have plenty of good things to look forward to and who knows I might even be able to play out the rest of my career here."

Mitchell said the new contract is just reward for Pellegrino, who had stints with Adelaide City and Adelaide United in the old NSL as well as time with Metro Stars in the SA State League with a season in Greece sandwiched in between.

"I have always thought highly of him as a player and he has come here on a one-year contract, done very well and has been rewarded for his efforts," Mitchell said.

"He is a valuable player in our squad and I think that as the team continues to gel together you'll see more and more of what Adriano has to offer."

"He is a feisty competitor and a great character to have around the club and his loyalty to Glory shouldn't be underestimated. He loves Perth, has fitted in really well and it's great to have him on board."
