Outcome of independent MRP: Besart Berisha

The independent Match Review Panel (MRP) – consisting of Simon Micallef (Chair), Con Diomis and Adam D’Apuzzo – convened today to consider an incident involving Besart Berisha (Melbourne Victory) which arose in or around the 59th minute of Melbourne Victory’s Round 15 match against Brisbane Roar FC on Friday, 13 January 2017.

The MRP has the authority to consider the incident as Besart Berisha was issued with a direct red card by the referee for the offence of violent conduct.

In reviewing the incident, the MRP considered an Obvious Error (Red Card) Application submitted by Melbourne Victory on behalf of Besart Berisha.

The MRP unanimously allowed the Obvious Error (Red Card) Application in accordance with the Hyundai A-League Disciplinary Regulations. Accordingly, the red card will be expunged from Besart Berisha’s record and he will be available to play in Melbourne Victory’s Round 7 catch up match against Wellington Phoenix on Tuesday, 17 January 2017.
