One to watch: Chloe O'Brien

Hailing from Sydney, there’s plenty to like about this talented teenager making waves with the red and black.

In her second season in the Westfield W-League with the Western Sydney Wanderers, O’Brien is showing maturity above her years with a string of fine displays.

She has progressed through the ranks in NSW, starting with Manly United before being a part of Football NSW’s Project 22 program for elite youngsters and then the Football NSW Institute.

It wasn’t long before she was called-up to the Young Matildas and earlier this year went to the U19 AFC Women’s Championship’s where Australia narrowly missed out on the semis.

O’Brien now is undoubtedly one of the brightest young talents in the country and one to watch in the NAB Young Footballer of the Year race.

She scored her first W-League goal earlier this season in the 2-1 win over Newcastle Jets while also has three interceptions and won 14 duels during the campaign.
