What does Sydney FC playmaker Milos Ninkovic have in common with Brazilian superstar Neymar and French whiz Dimitri Payet? They have all been selected in this week’s EA SPORTS’ FIFA 17 Team of the Week.
Ninkovic made the squad after another eye-catching display in the Sky Blues’ 4-1 trouncing of Perth Glory on Sunday.
The Serbian was at his destructive yet creative best and had a hand in three of Sydney’s four goals as they made it a perfect six-from-six in Hyundai A-League season 2016/17.
In a man-of-the-match display, Ninkovic opened the scoring when he capitalised on a defensive mix-up, sneaking in just before keeper Liam Reddy before running the ball into an empty net.
He then set up Bobo for a tap-in just before half-time before capping a fine performance with his second with a smashing volley from close-range to snuff out Glory’s comeback.
Ninkovic has been in vintage form this season, one of the standout players in the Hyundai A-League with four goals and three assists from six appearances.
And he is among some of the biggest names in world football in the team of the week.
While Brazilian star Neymar and Payet are there for their performances for Brazil and France respectively, powerful Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku is also in the squad.
Tottenham duo Christian Eriksen and Kyle Walker also made the cut while Chile and Manchester City keeper Claudio Bravo is there after saving a penalty from Luis Suarez in Chile’s win over Uruguay.
Ninkovic also made the Hyundai A-League Team of the Week for Round 6.
