Erick Mombaerts has revealed which of his new Melbourne City signings are set to start in Wednesday night’s FFA Cup 2019 Round of 32 clash with Campbelltown City.
Mombaerts, 64, has assembled an impressive-looking roster of local and international talent in Victoria following his appointment in June.

He confirmed that two of those foreign signings – Craig Noone and Javier Cabrera – would be handed their starting debuts for City against reigning National Premier League Champions Campbelltown.
The Frenchman also suggested that both ex-Premier League winger Noone and Uruguayan attacker Cabrera are primed for key roles in his tactical mission to transform the previously goal-shy City into Australia’s entertainers.

“Noone and Cabrera will start tomorrow,” he said at City’s pre-match press conference on Tuesday morning.
“They are understanding well, what we want to set up on the field about the wingers. It’s special. Their physical level has increased and also their understanding of our game principles.”

“All the players are available. Adrian Luna is not at the top level physically because he’s had only a few sessions with us but he’s getting better. We worked a lot physically in the last few days to be ready for this first game.
