Phoenix part ways with New Zealand international

Wellington Phoenix have confirmed that New Zealand International Michael McGlinchey will depart the club, effective immediately.

The midfielder spent four seasons with the Kiwi club and made a total of 85 appearances.

McGlinchey joined Wellington prior to the 2014/15 season after winning a Hyundai A-League Championship title with the Central Coast Mariners.

McGlinchey scored 11 goals for the Phoenix and captained the club on a number of occasions during his stint with Wellington.

The 31-year-old also chalked up his 200th Hyundai A-League appearance earlier this year in his side's 2-1 win over Perth Glory at home.

He became one of only 26 players throughout the history of the A-League to achieve the feat.
