Melbourne City FC can today confirm the signing of defender Daniel Georgievski on an injury replacement contract for the remainder of the A-League season.
He replaces full-back Nathaniel Atkinson who suffered a high-grade hamstring injury in City’s Round 15 win against Wellington.
Georgievski has 128 A-League appearances to his name and joins the Club on a short-term contract after having most recently played at Western Sydney Wanderers.
He’s also spent time playing abroad in both Croatia and the Romanian top-tier and has been capped 22 times by North Macedonia.
Director of Football Michael Petrillo said:
“It’s important for our squad to have depth and balance. Daniel will provide us with some experience and cover for the loss of Nathaniel Atkinson.
“Daniel can play both sides of defence and he’s played many years in the A-League which brings lots of experience to our squad.
“He’ll be a short-term injury replacement while Nathaniel is injured and there’s also the possibility to add him to our Asian Champions League squad.”
