The scalp of Perth would undoubtedly be a big boost for the Melbourne club, who posted a home draw against Glory in their second-ever A-League game last season, before beating the WA club 2-0 away.
After a long wait, Perth kicked off their season against Adelaide United on Wednesday night. The match against Western United is the first of three against the Melbourne clubs in 10 days, as they face Victory on Tuesday 26 January and City on Sunday 31 January.
