Perth Glory boss Kenny Lowe has a simple message for his side as they look to keep their faint Hyundai A-League Finals Series hopes alive against Newcastle Jets on Friday night.
"We just have to go and win the game," the Glory boss said.
Glory is currently eighth and three points behind sixth-placed Brisbane Roar, who travel to seventh-placed Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday afternoon.
A Roar win would all-but end Glory's hopes of sneaking into the finals, Lowe wants his players to focus on what they can control first.
"What will happen elsewhere will happen," he said.
"We're doing what we always do which is focusing upon ourselves and letting everything else take care of itself.
"We're in good form, with the only team to have beaten us recently being one that has lost maybe three or four games in the last two seasons."
Glory have a great record in the Hunter, unbeaten in their last nine visits to McDonald Jones Stadium.
Midfielder Brandon Wilson has failed to recover from a virus in time for the trip to New South Wales, with Jake Brimmer taking his spot in the squad.
Key attacker Diego Castro, who has been dealing with a bout of gastro this week, has been passed fit to play.
"The squad has trained well this week, we've finally got good competition for places across the board and there's a quiet confidence within the group that we can go over there [Newcastle] and get the result we need," Lowe said.
