When Antony Golec miscued a clearance into the crowd against Perth Glory on Sunday, he immediately apologised to the fans for firing the ball in their direction.
Stressing his concern, Golec continued to express his remorse as Glory lined-up to take a corner from the ensuing attack.
As it turns out, his clearance accidentally struck a young fan in the stands.
At full time, Golec immediately raced into the stands to check on the welfare of the young girl and presented the Mariners fan with his playing jersey.
On Tuesday, the Mariners shared the touching story on their official Facebook page, with the youngter’s mother confirming that her daughter hadn’t suffered any injuries from the incident.
And she now has a favourite new piece of Mariners memorabilia to cheer her up.
