Mariners’ De Silva: our best is yet to come in Hyundai A-League
After his masterclass in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Western Sydney Wanderers, Danny De Silva believes the best is yet to come from his Central Coast Mariners.
Paul Okon’s men were twice in the lead but ended up having to settle for a point after an eye-catching performance in Sydney against Wanderers on Saturday.
The 20-year-old rising star reckons there’s more to come from the Yellow Army.
"Tonight we showed what a good footballing team we are," he told Fox Sports.
"And how dangerous we can be. Unfortunately we weren't clinical enough but we'll continue to work on that and hopefully next week we'll be more clinical."
And it was De Silva’s sublime second for Mariners which got the visiting fans off their seats at Spotless.
The player heaping praise on his manager Paul Okon for giving him a licence to create.
"He really believes in me and I have a lot of respect for his system and I believe in it and I know the players believe in it. And it showed tonight."
Mariners face Glory in Perth next weekend.
