Central Coast Mariners have announced that the club has terminated South Korean attacker Kim Seung-yong’s contract by mutual consent.
Kim, who scored in last weekend’s 3-3 draw with Brisbane Roar and celebrated with the club’s fans and his teammates with gusto and pride, has an opportunity to play closer to his homeland and family which he is keen to pursue.
The former Gamba Osaka and Ulsan Hyundai playmaker has been a model professional since joining the yellow and navy in February 2014.
A popular member of the playing squad, the Mariners have said Kim leaves with the best wishes of everyone involved with the club.
Kim is due to depart Sydney for Seoul on Saturday.
