Newcastle Jets have announced on Sunday they have parted ways with coach Mark Jones, effective immediately.
Jones was appointed as coach of the Jets in September 2016, however after finishing bottom of the Hyundai A-League ladder this campaign the club’s ownership and senior management will make a fresh appointment for the 2017/18 Season.
The Jets are hopeful of having a new coach in place in time for when the club return for its pre-season training schedule in late June.
At this stage there are no other changes to the club’s other coaching and football support staff.
Senior assistant Clayton Zane will oversee training over the coming weeks before the playing group breaks for their annual leave in early May.
