Jets lock in Melbourne training camp

Newcastle Jets will venture to Melbourne this Saturday for a six-day camp aimed at advancing the team’s preparations ahead of Hyundai A-League season 11.

While in the Victorian capital the Jets will play two friendly matches – the first against A-League rivals Melbourne City behind closed doors on Sunday 16 August, the second against PS4 National Premier League Victoria ladder leaders Bentleigh Greens at Kingston Heath Soccer Complex on Wednesday 19 August.

Newcastle Jets will also head to South East Queensland in mid-September for a further pre-season encounter.

On Saturday 12 September the Jets will challenge Brisbane Roar at the home of Redlands United FC on Waterloo Street in Cleveland. 

The Jets bowed out of the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 on Tuesday night after suffering a penalty shootout loss to Perth Glory.
