Newcastle Jets have continued to re-shape their squad during the mid-season transfer window with the club announcing the departure of 23-year-old attacker Andy Brennan by mutual consent.
Brennan joined the Jets ahead of the Hyundai A-League 2015/16 season on a two-year contract and made five league appearances during his time in the Hunter.
The Tasmanian-born winger/striker has returned home with a view to continuing his professional career elsewhere.
Brennan becomes the third player to leave the Jets in recent times following the exit of fellow attackers Mitch Cooper and Radovan Pavicevic.
The news paves the way for coach Mark Jones to further add to his roster this month, with goalkeeper Tomislav Arčaba having recently joined the club.
Seventh placed Newcastle take on the Wanderers at Campbelltown Stadium in Round 16 action this Sunday.
