Western Sydney Wanderers have confirmed goalkeeper Vedran Janjetovic will be sidelined for the next six months after a recurring rotator cuff tear in his right shoulder.
Janjetovic, 31, suffered the tear last season, missing the club's last two Hyundai A-League matches, and will now undergo surgery after the injury proved resistant to a range of rehabilitation and injection treatment options.
“It’s obviously a very disappointing outcome but I will be fighting to get back to my best form,” said Janjetovic.

“The road to recovery starts after my surgery and I will be on the sidelines supporting the team over the next few months.”
The injury to Janjetovic opens the door for new recruit Daniel Lopar to make himself Markus Babbel's first-choice 'keeper.
Lopar, 34, became Babbel's third signing of the off-season in May, joining after 13 years at Swiss Super League side St. Gallen.
"I'm very happy with Daniel, an experienced guy who will also help the young ones to improve," Babbel said in June.
