Bad blood boils over
An intriguing subplot to the Mariners-Glory clash on the Central Coast was the icy relationship between former team-mates Nick Montgomery and Liam Reddy. The Glory gloveman refused to shake hands with the Mariners skipper before the match - possibly some lingering animosity from the way Reddy’s time at the Mariners ended last season. But it was newly-minted Aussie Nick who had the last laugh after Reddy was sent off in the dying minutes, delivering a cheeky wave as the keeper trudged off towards the sheds.
