Henrique haunts Glory again to boost Roar’s finals hopes

He’s made a habit of scoring crucial goals for Brisbane Roar and Henrique delivered against on Saturday night, and again it was Perth Glory feeling the ‘Slippery Fish’s’ wrath.

The bubbly Brazilian came off the bench to score a brace as Roar moved into the top six with a 3-2 win over the Glory at nib Stadium.

The double-strike took Henrique’s tally against Glory to eight goals, more than he has scored against any other Hyundai A-League opponent.

While he only joined Roar in mid-season, the three-time championship winner has had a big impact in Roar’s last season charge into the top six.

"When I came back I looked the boys in the eyes and I promised them, ‘I’m hungry, I want to make the finals and I’ll leave everything on the field’," Henrique told Fox Sports post-game.

"So that’s what I did.

"I left everything on the field and it was enough."

If the Wanderers fail to beat Adelaide on Sunday and Roar do make the finals, Henrique’s big-game experience and knack of scoring important goals could be a threat for the Brisbane outfit.
