Heart announce coaching panel
Former Socceroo Hayden Foxe has joined Melbourne Heart's new "coaching panel" to assist John Aloisi in his first season in charge.
Melbourne Heart have unveiled a highly experienced "coaching panel" to help guide the club through new coach John Aloisi's first season in charge of the senior squad.
Former Socceroo Hayden Foxe, Ron Smith and Joey Didulica will join Aloisi, football operations manager John Didulica and Peter Zois to create a dedicated football department to help build on the relatively new franchise's fine start to the competition.
Heart CEO Scott Munn said: “We feel the updated structure of our football department will equip us to build on our debut finals appearance last season while helping further shape our playing identity and philosophy, which is centred on a commitment to player development and a modern-style of football.
“Importantly, we will also continue to offer our players access to coaches boasting substantial experience at the elite level, with each individual bringing a unique set of qualities to the Club.”
With experience at elite clubs such as Ajax, Leeds, Portsmouth and the national team Foxe will work closely with Aloisi on match-days.
The former head of the AIS football program, Ron Smith will take on a consulting role in mentoring the club-s coaches and providing high-level support in footballing trends, youth development, and match analysis.
And World Cup, Euro and Champions League veteran Joey Didulica will bring a wealth of best-practice coaching methodologies having worked closely with the likes of Louis van Gaal, Dick Advocaat, Joachim Low and former Heart boss John van -t Schip.
