Brett Emerton has been nominated for the Philips Sports Dad of the Year award.
Brett Emerton has been recognised for his family values and has been nominated as a candidate for the 2012 Philips Sports Dad of the Year award.
The Philips Sports Dad of the Year award highlights 10 elite athletes across a broad range of sports, giving insights into how they juggle fatherhood with their sporting commitments.
Emerton, who joined Sydney FC last season, made no secret of the fact that family and the desire for his children to grow up in Sydney was one of the reasons he chose to join the Sky Blues when he could have stayed in the English Premier League.
The 32-year-old returned to Sydney with wife Sarah and sons Zach, 5, and Harvey, 2, choosing to put down roots close to his parents and siblings, who have always been amongst his greatest supporters.
