Perth Glory captain Jamie Coyne has been cleared to play Queensland next round after the match review panel cleared him of any wrongdoing when handed a red card against Newcastle on Sunday.

Coyne was sent off by referee Matthew Breeze for engaging in serious foul play when he appeared to slide into Jets midfielder Jin-Hyung Song.

However, that red card has now been expunged from his record after Perth successfully challenged it.

Meanwhile, Newcastle defender Daniel Piorkowski, who was also sent off during the match for engaging in serious foul play, has been handed the minimum two-match sanction by the panel.
