Ex-Victory skipper released by Al-Ahli

Ex-Melbourne Victory captain Mark Milligan has been released by Al-Ahli following a statement released by the Saudi Arabian giants.

Milligan joined Al-Ahli from Melbourne Victory in January and made eight appearances for Pablo Guede's side.

The 32-year-old played all three FIFA World Cup™ matches for Australia and was one of the team's standout performers.

A PFA Team of the Decade midfielder, Milligan has won Hyundai A-League Championships with Sydney FC in 2005/06 and Melbourne Victory in 2014/15.

He has made 140 Hyundai A-League appearances in total.
