Brisbane Roar v Melbourne City: match preview

Hyundai A-League football heads to Redcliffe as Dolphin Stadium plays host to Brisbane Roar’s clash with Melbourne City on Sunday afternoon.

Roar will be hoping a new venue brings with it a change in luck – especially in front of goal – after drawing another blank in last weekend’s 1-0 loss to Adelaide United.

Robbie Fowler’s side – who are still searching for their first win of the campaign – have gone 270 minutes without finding the net.

It’s not the type of form you want as the league-leaders come to town in a confident mood on the back of four straight wins.

Even without talisman Jamie Maclaren in the last two weeks, City haven’t missed a beat scoring six goals in two games in his absence.

Where heroes are made

Did you know?

  • Melbourne City remain undefeated in the current Hyundai A-League campaign (W4, D1) and this is their best record after the first five matches of a season.
  • Brisbane Roar have been kept goalless in their last three Hyundai A-League games. The last - and only previous - time they went longer without a goal was a four-game drought in November 2006.
  • Brisbane Roar’s Jay O’Shea (17) and Melbourne City’s Craig Noone (14) have created the most scoring chances of all players in the Hyundai A-League 2019/20 Season.
