Brisbane Roar showcase their clinical edge after stunning Victory in Melbourne

Brisbane Roar were at their clinical best on Friday night after they defeated Melbourne Victory 2-1 at AAMI Park on Friday night.

Of all the in-game stats, the most telling was shots.

Brisbane Roar only had six shots throughout this entertaining clash.  Three of those were on target and two of those hit the net.

John Aloisi, the Roar coach, would surely be happy with his side's ability to finish thanks to his clinical goalscorers Massimo Maccarone and Brett Holman.

On the other hand, Victory had a glut of shots: 15 in total. Of those 15, just three were on target.

Plenty for Victory coach Kevin Muscat to ponder after Roar dominated the shooting accuracy stats with 50 percent to Victory's 20 percent accuracy.

Interestingly, also, Victory had almost twice as many passes as Roar (528 to 289) and they had a better passing accuracy with 77.5 percent to Roar's 63.7 percent.

Victory also won the possession stats 64.8 percent to Roar's paltry 35.2 percent.

Just goes to show, those stats mean little if you know how to finish in front of goals, which Roar showed superbly on Friday night as they moved into the six.
