Brisbane Roar striker Besart Berisha has re-signed with the Hyundai A-League champions for a further two seasons.
The Albanian international, who leads the race for the Nike Golden Boot with 13 goals, had earlier intimated his desire to stay in Brisbane.
"The important thing is that I enjoy being in Brisbane and I really want to stay," Berisha said.
However despite his wishes there was plenty of overseas interest in the striker who has had his ups and downs this season, most notable a long goal drought and his infamous run-in with Sydney FC defender Pascal Bosschaart.
Roar coach Ange Postecoglou was relieved to have completed the new deal.
"I'm pretty happy to get him signed on for another couple of years," Postecoglou said.
