Babbel names Majewski and Schwegler in Wanderers squad for Leeds clash

New recruits Radoslaw Majewski and Pirmin Schwegler have been included in Western Sydney Wanderers’ squad for the club’s pre-season friendly against Leeds United.

The Wanderers will play their first match at their new home ground at Parramatta – Bankwest Stadium – against the English Championship outfit on Saturday, July 20.

And coach Markus Babbel has named imports Majewski and Schwegler as part of his 24-man squad for Leeds’ first visit to Australia in 17 years.

In all, Babbel has included five of his new signings, including goalkeeper Daniel Lopar, Macedonian international Daniel Georgievski and defender Dylan McGowan.

German centre-back Patrick Ziegler has also been named, alongside attacking stars Mitch Duke, Kwame Yeboah and Bruce Kamau.

The only players unavailable at the moment are midfielder Jordan O’Doherty and goalkeeper Vedran Janjetovic due to long-term injuries.

Leeds United will come into the match off the back of a mid-week friendly against Manchester United at Optus Stadium in Perth.
