Arnold v Muscat: stats comparison ahead of Big Blue blockbuster

It’s Arnie v Musky, again.

Two of the most experienced coaches in the history of the Hyundai A-League go head to head for the 15th time in Saturday night’s blockbuster semi-final at Allianz Stadium.

We look at how Graham Arnold and Kevin Muscat compare as they prepare their sides for the latest ‘Big Blue’.

This will be the 15th time Arnold and Muscat have coached sides against each other.

Arnold has won seven of the previous 14 meetings, and incredibly they are the most recent seven.

In the seven clashes prior to that, Muscat oversaw three wins with the other four games drawn.

Across all 14 meetings, Arnold’s side has scored 20 goals and Muscat’s 19.

Kevin Muscat has just one win from seven games against Graham Arnold at Allianz Stadium.

The pair have met twice in Hyundai A-League finals matches and both were Grand Finals; Victory’s 3-0 win in the 2014/15 showpiece and Sydney FC’s win on penalties in last season’s finale.

Kevin Muscat has coached in 141 Hyundai A-League games, guiding his side to 69 wins (49%), 31 draws and 41 losses.

Graham Arnold's 116 wins as a Hyundai A-League manager are the most of any coach in the competition's history, one ahead of Ernie Merrick.

On Saturday night, Kevin Muscat will oversee his 142nd Hyundai A-League game, drawing level with Tony Popovic as the fifth most experienced coach in competition history.
