Adelaide United have revealed the club’s official Kappa playing kits for the upcoming Hyundai A-League 2015/16 season.
The strips will be worn throughout United’s upcoming campaign and for the first time will include a third ‘clash’ kit.
United’s new home kit will once again be the traditional red, yet it also embodies South Australia’s state colours with yellow and blue detailing across it.
Meanwhile, the new away kit will be black, symbolising the Reds’ strong and imposing footballing style, but also embracing our classic red around the trimming of the collar and both sleeves.
The third strip will be worn on away matches where both the home and away strips’ colours coincide with United’s opposition. It will be cobalt blue in colour and is the first time our outfield players will wear blue.
In addition, Adelaide’s goalkeepers will have three differing kits. Similar to last season, one variation will be grey, whilst the new inclusions will be lime and lilac, but all three will have red detailing.
In conjunction with Kappa’s latest high-performance Hydro-Way fabric, ventilation panels down either side of the shirt provide extreme breathability for all types of playing conditions, increasing comfort and versatility.
Across all the shirts there is a unique dotted gradient pulsating horizontally through the middle with Kappa’s iconic and classical ‘Omini’ logos, which sit upon each shoulder of the shirts’ ergonomic fit.
The collars differ from last season’s shirt embracing more of a retro style, whilst the club’s crest is embroidered seamlessly over the Reds’ hearts.
We also have the club’s establishment date stamped onto the back of the collar, representing the Reds’ birth into Australia’s professional footballing world.
Reds captain, Eugene Galekovic, said he and his teammates cannot wait to start playing in the newly designed kits and believes the new style and colours will be well-received by Reds’ fans.
“The new shirts are very nice and it’s great to have new strips for a new season,” Galekovic said.
“The design and detailing compared to last season’s kit has varied, but the breathability to these new ones is really good and the colours we’ve gone for definitely stand out.
“Having the third kit is also great and it’s also a bit different to what the fans are used to us wearing, but I think it’s something they’ll all get behind and I’m sure they’ll love it.”

“The kits incorporate technical fabrics and features to enhance the player’s performance whilst reflecting Kappa’s global DNA, which is the essence of Italian design and performance.
“Adelaide United will join the Kappa International family alongside Leeds United, Torino FC, and Borussia Mönchengladbach to name a few with their 2015/16 kit designs.
“Kappa Australia is proud to continue our partnership with the Adelaide United Football Club again in 2015/16 and we are excited by the team’s early season performances as they look to defend their Westfield FFA Cup title and we wish the club all the best for the upcoming Hyundai A-League season.”
