Signing news: Victory re-sign three Championship winners

Melbourne Victory goalkeeper and Joe Marston medallist Lawrence Thomas is among three Championship-winning players to commit to the club by signing contract extensions on Wednesday.

Also committing their futures to the club are skipper Carl Valeri and veteran Leigh Broxham - both of whom played pivotal roles in Victory's Grand Final triumph over the Newcastle Jets earlier this month.

Thomas, who delivered one of the great individual Grand Final performances to secure the Joe Marston Medal, has signed a two-year deal that will take him through until the conclusion of the 2019/20 Season.

While the experienced duo of Valeri and Broxham have each penned one-year extensions.

"All three contributed heavily to our success last season and with the added demands of another [AFC] Champions League campaign ahead of us, they'll no doubt prove invaluable through both competitions again.

"We've still got a number of players to sign ahead of next season and there will be a period of adjustment required for most of those, so having leaders like Carl and Leigh in the change room is extremely important."
