Berisha and Barbarouses on target as resurgent Victory outclass Wanderers

Melbourne Victory warmed up for next week's Australia Day Big Blue with a classy 3-0 win over Western Sydney Wanderers at Sydney's ANZ Stadium on Friday night. 

The win pushes Victory into third on the ladder ahead of the remaining three games in the round.

Besart Berisha scoring his side's second and providing a classy assist for the opener for Kosta Barbarouses, who scored twice to confirm a super win for Kevin Muscat's men.

  • SECOND GOAL TO VICTORY Berisha with Victory's second of the night after 67 mins. 0-2. 
  • DOUBLE CHANGE FOR WSW Santalab and Baccus on for the final 20 mins as Gombau searches for a circuit breaker. 
  • ACTON SAVES WELL Baccus wriggles free in the box but Victory's Acton saves well again as the final 10 minutes approach.

Barbarouses Victory 35', 0-1

Berisha with the superb assist.  Receives the ball with his back to goal inside WSW's half, rolls his defender sidesteps another then sends Barbarouses away down the right. The Kiwi winger bursts through, draws the defender and powers a low shot past Janjetovic. 

Berisha Victory 71', 0-2

Milligan sets Leroy George free who sprints off the defender's shoulder, he runs on to the ball, holds it up and lays it off to the on-running Berisha who finishes for his 11th goal in 17 games against Wanderers. 

Barbarouses Victory 92', 0-3

Ingham gives it over to Barbarouses who takes a shot on goal from 25m away off the one step and he hits the top corner of the net with Janjetovic helpless to stop it.
