How our E-League players performed at the FIFA eWorld Cup

E-League competitors Marcus Gomes and FUTWIZ Marko represented Australia on the world stage as Germany’s Mohamed ‘MoAuba’ Harkous was crowned the 2019 FIFA eWorld Cup champion.

MoAuba prevailed in the Final Showdown on Sunday in a dramatic victory over Mosaad ‘Msdossary’ Aldossary at The O2 in London.

In front of a live audience which included the likes of Crystal Palace star Wilfred Zaha and former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov, MoAuba secured a 3-2 aggregate victory.

After the first leg ended 1-1 on Xbox, MoAuba showed his quality with a 2-0 victory on his favoured Playstation console in the second leg.

As well as lifting the coveted trophy, MoAuba won a life-changing US$250,000 (AU$$367,000) in prize money and an exclusive invitation to The Best FIFA Football Awards™ in Milan in September later this year.

Both of our E-League competitors failed to get out of the group stage from the event which featured the best 32 FIFA players from around the globe.

Reigning E-League champions Futwiz Marko was horribly unlucky to miss out, finishing fifth in his group with four wins and three losses from the weekend’s action.

It was a tough weekend for Marcus Gomes, who was unable to win any of his seven ties in Group B.
