Keeper: Mark Birighitti (Jets) - His spectacular outstretched save to deny Lustica the winner is enough alone to earn the nod. At no fault for either goal and even kept out Jamie Maclaren's initial penalty attempt.

Defenders: Alex Grant (Glory) - Hard to believe he’s only 22. A mature performance in Glory’s hard-earned win over Sydney FC. Lost count the amount of times he snuffed out a dangerous attack.

Andrew Durante (Phoenix) - The skipper put in another inspiring display in the heart of defence, throwing himself in the way of everything to ensure one of the upsets of the season.

Shane Lowry (Glory) - Along with Grant, marshalled Glory’s defence superbly in their 2-1 win over Sydney FC. Led by example with his tackling and communication. A real warrior and a brilliant signing by Kenny Lowe.

Jacob Poscoliero (Mariners) - A young player with a bright future. Was relentless in his defensive work against the Reds on Sunday night in Gosford.

Midfielders: Aaron Mooy (City) - Played a central role in driving his side forward in the 2-2 Melbourne Derby classic. Assisted both of Fornaroli's goals including a cute reverse pass which made the first even more memorable.

Gui Finkler (Victory) - Released Kosta Barbarouses en-route to Victory's first goal, grabbed a fortunate on of his own and denied another - more characteristic - free-kick special.
8 of 13
Enver Alivodic (Jets) - Direct running regularly caused headaches for the Brisbane back four and his superb cross invited Mitch Cooper's headed equaliser. Unfortunate own goal came as a result of desperate defending but that shouldn't detract.
9 of 13
Attackers: Bruno Fornaroli (City) - Near unstoppable, at least in the first half of a breathless Melbourne Derby. Inspired City to lead on two occasions with his first goal a particularly special piece of magic started and finished by him.

Blake Powell (Phoenix) - Four goals! Enough said, this was one of the individual performances of the season as the Kiwi outfit slammed Wanderers 5-2. Take a bow, Blake Powell!

Diego Castro (Glory) - The Sky Blues just couldn’t get near the special Spaniard. Some exquisite touches and classy moments from one of the A-League’s best imports.

Coach of the round: Ernie Merrick (Phoenix) - Massive underdogs, yet Merrick was able to engineer a famous, and emphatic, 5-2 win for Phoenix at Wanderland.
