Keeper: Danny Vukovic (Sydney FC) - Could do little to stop Troisi’s superb opener but was utterly superb from that time on – made some crucial stops to keep out a desperate Victory.

Defence: Daniel Bowles (Roar) - Assisted Roar's opener with a classy cross and made a crucial challenge soon after - a productive first run-on appearance for the Roar man after just 55 minutes of football this season.

Andrew Durante (Phoenix) - Like Boogaard in Coffs, the Wellington leader was inspirational down back in oppressive heat, helping Phoenix register a valuable point on the road.

Nigel Boogaard (Jets) - Lead by example with a huge defensive display in Coffs against Cahill, Fornaroli and Co. While Nabbout did the damage up front, it was “Boogs” who kept City at bay brilliantly with some big defence.

Michael Zullo (Sydney FC) - Was key to the revival in the Big Blue. Continued his defensively solid contribution while trying to keep Marco Rojas quiet, and was a constant menace in the attacking third.

Midfield: Brandon O’Neill (Sydney FC) - @brannerz15 kept the midfield ticking over again, helping the Sky Blues to a famous Big Blue win in Melbourne.

Nick Montgomery (Mariners) - The new Aussie citizen put in a tireless display to help his Mariners to a first win since Round 8.

Steven Ugarkovic (Jets) - Fierce in the tackle, and very hard-working, Ugarkovic epitomised the desperate nature of the Jets who held on for a 2-1 win in Coffs over City.

Forwards: Bernie Ibini (Sydney FC) - A stunning second half display from the Sky Blue sub who blitzed Victory with his power and pace before rifling home the winner with aplomb.

Brandon Borrello (Roar) - Built on last week's fine performance with another lively contribution to Brisbane's last-gasp win over Western Sydney, scoring one and almost creating another with a barnstorming run in the second-half.

Andrew Nabbout (Jets) - Could’ve taken home the match ball but in the end his two excellent goals – the second in particular caught the eye - were enough to see off City in Coffs. Calls for a national team call up just get louder for the Jets talisman.

Coach of the round: Graham Arnold (Sydney FC) - As Arnie said after the game, the Sky Blues found another way to win as they came back from a goal down to battle and scrap on a hard Etihad surface to eventually strangle Victory in the Big Blue, winning 2-1.
