Women’s football in Australia is entering the dawn of a new era, with the introduction of an Australian-wide national competition – the Westfield W-League.

Eight teams will contest the inaugural season, with all Australian Hyundai A-League clubs participating, with the newly formed Canberra United the eighth team.

The competition will provide the best women’s footballers in the country with the chance to play in a weekly competitive environment, something they haven’t experienced for a number of years.

The competition will commence on the wekeend commencing the 25th October with the official draw to be released on the 1st October.

W-League pages on all club sites will also be available from October 1.
